The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier

When I travelled to Melbourne last week the only thing I had on my to-do list was seeing the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. The exhibition consisted of more than 140 garments as well as photographs, sketches, costumes and other multimedia elements.

Traversing through the seven galleries, it was clear how passionate Gaultier was about fashion and culture. The countless hours and amount of care that have gone into his garments has resulted in extraordinary detail and beauty. The exhibition delved into Gaultier's rich history of corsetry, and included costumes worn by the likes of Madonna and Beyonce. It was also interesting to see garments inspired by the London punk scene and costumes created for films.

If you are in Melbourne before February 8th, I highly recommend the exhibition.

City Living

Ah, yes, New York. I daresay it's one of the most intriguing and inspiring cities in the world. I've never been but I feel as though there's something about the scary concrete jungle that makes the idea of living there seem so thrilling.

This could be me trying to be mature and envisioning how I would decorate my own city apartment one day (ahem—when I'm rich), or it could just be the result of watching too many Sex and the City episodes in one sitting... Either way, I had to post these pictures of a dream-worthy apartment in downtown Manhattan.

She's a Dreamer

Never satisfied with the everyday, she longs to escape. Running away to unexplored territory where everything is hyper real. Her senses are heightened, the wind through her hair is thrilling and the sun warms not only her bare skin but all of her inside. She knows no worry. She has no limits. The world is hers to conquer. She's brave and bold but at the same time vulnerable. She's a dreamer.

Gilded Grandeur

It's Parisian opulence at its best. After some renovation, this 19th century apartment situated in the 7th arrondissement manages to show off its incredible architecture while incorporating contemporary decor. If you ask me, the 2,300 square foot apartment is bringing on a severe case of home envy.
